The 2027 Fischer S-Bound 98 Crown/ Dual-Skin is the ultimate backcountry travel machine. This ski offers some of the best performance on the market for a versatile backcountry ski that can handle nearly anything you throw at it. Featuring the well loved Fischer Crown pattern along with a full metal edge and generous sidecut, this ski is an efficient and capable workhorse that offers plenty of control and ease of use for whatever the terrain throws at you.

Why we like it:

This ski is perhaps the most capable backcountry-oriented classic ski out there!

Who it's for:

This ski is perfect for skiers at any level looking for an efficient any easy to control backcountry-oriented ski

Highlights:

The significant camber of this ski makes it stand out from other manufacturers, making it much more efficient than other skis in the class. The Dual skin on this ski allows the user to utilize Fischer's Easy Skin platform or use a full-length skin for ultimate climbing ability. The light weight of this ski coupled with the crown pattern base make this ski incredibly quick for long tours. The versatility of this ski is truly unparallelled!

Things to consider:

This ski is incredibly well rounded but due to the large amount of camber on this ski it can make it a little more difficult than other skis in this category when descending at speed. Also, the deep sidecut can make the ski wander a little on flat smooth surfaces, which makes it perhaps not the best tool for groomed nordic centers.

Fit & sizing considerations:

For more grip when climbing, going shorter can help, while going longer will provide a faster glide. However, choosing the length that is the correct size based on your weight is recommended.
