Noise Level & Talking Ability

Rose Crowned Conures are generally less noisy than other Pyrrhura species. Their calls made in flight are less harsh, and the vocalizations when perched are either clear and sharp or rapidly repeated notes.

Physical Features 

Colour Adult:
Both adults are mainly green in colour; rose/red forehead to occiput; maroon ear coverts; orange/yellow carpal edge with white tint; white primary coverts. Tail brown/red. Bill horn in colour. Eye ring is bare and white. Eye brown. Males usually have more red than females.

Colour Juvenile:
Green crown with a dull blue tinge, with scattered red feathers; blue primary coverts.

Pet Profile

They are lively, energetic parrots that quickly grow confiding with their caretakers. They are not as noisy as other conures but can get noisy if alarmed. Most of their vocalizations are made in the mornings and evenings.

These birds need a lot of attention and bond very strongly with their owner. Rose Crowned Conures are very affectionate and cuddly birds and also have a very playful personality!

Diet

Pellet should take up 60% of the diet. Fruit such as apple, pear, orange, banana, pomegranate, cactus fruits, kiwi. Vegetables such as carrot, celery, green beans, and peas in the pod; fresh corn on the cob; green leaves such as Swiss chard, lettuce, sowthistle, dandelion, chickweed should form about 30 percent of the diet. Small seed mixes such as canary, millet, and smaller amounts of oats, buckwheat, safflower, and a little hemp; soaked and sprouted sunflower seed; cooked beans and pulses, boiled maize.

Housing

These birds need a spacious cage to exert their energy. Provide toys and perches of different materials to keep them engaged.
